Christmas Light Installation in Decatur
Decatur the city is a small grid east of Atlanta, with its own square. A lot of mail that says Decatur is actually unincorporated DeKalb. The difference matters for the house, not for whether you can request a quote.
Inside the city limits, 30030 covers downtown, Oakhurst, and Winnona Park. North toward Emory and Clairmont, 30033 often still says Decatur on the envelope. Send the address either way.
Call or text 404-514-8908 or request a free Decatur quote. This is a full-service seasonal installation: we provide the lights, design and install the display, fix bulbs during the season at no extra charge, then take it down and store it. You don't need to buy any. Pricing is per linear foot.
Oakhurst and Winnona Park
Oakhurst, south of the Square, is bungalows and Craftsman houses on close lots, with porches facing the sidewalk. The display that fits is a straight eave line, a wreath, and garland on the porch. Covering every foundation shrub makes a small front yard look crowded.
Winnona Park, southeast of downtown along Winnona Drive and the streets off East College, is the same generation of cottages with a few more trees and slightly deeper yards. One wrapped tree plus the roofline is usually the whole job. Agnes Scott's campus is the landmark to the north of these streets. We light the houses, not the campus.
The Square, MAK, and Great Lakes
Around the Decatur Square, along Ponce de Leon Avenue and the blocks of the MAK district (McDonough, Adams, and Kings Highway), lots are tight and roofs are short. Neighbors see the front door and the porch before they see a side gable. A commercial storefront on the Square is a separate quote from a house a block away.
Great Lakes, on the northwest side of the city, steps up a bit: larger houses, more roof, and yards that are still walkable from the sidewalk. Those extra gables are why two Decatur houses a mile apart do not quote the same. We measure the footage.
North Decatur and the Atlanta line
North Decatur, Medlock, and the streets off Clairmont Road toward Emory are where the mailing city and the city limits come apart. Many of those houses are 30033, outside the City of Decatur, and they read more like Druid Hills ranches than Oakhurst bungalows. The quote uses the address, not the envelope.
West of the city, Kirkwood, East Lake, and Candler Park are Atlanta, and they are covered on the Atlanta page. East of the Winnona Park streets, Avondale Estates is its own city. If you are on that line, send the address and we will tell you whether we can schedule it.
Porches, pines, and the measurement
Decatur's useful footage is often the porch beam and a short eave, not a long suburban gutter run. A photo from the sidewalk and one from the side porch tells us whether the job is a cottage or one of the larger houses north of the Square. Pricing is still per linear foot of what we actually install.
